About our role:

Due to expansion of the team, Northern Star Resources has an exciting opportunity for a Light Vehicle Fitter to join us at our Thunderbox operations. This position is offered on an
8 days on 6 days off
rotation, FIFO ex Perth only. The Light Vehicle Fitter reports to the Light Vehicle Co-Ordinator, with a primary role of maintaining light vehicles and associated ancillary equipment to minimise downtime and to ensure targeted machine reliability is achieved between planned maintenance tasks within the operations.

  • Work within the Mobile Maintenance Team to ensure all activities (breakdowns, follow-up work, PMs, planned work etc) are performed in a safe, timely, professional and effective manner.
  • Provide key involvement in addressing safety issues and undertaking safety investigations, ensuring root causes are identified, and corrective actions are effectively implemented.
  • Organise all permits as required (e.g. isolations, confined space, hot work and dig permits).
  • Continuously review scheduled jobs to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide input into the annual performance reviews for the Mechanical Apprentices where applicable

To thrive in this role you will need...

Experience
: Minimum 2 yrs similar mining experience as a Light Vehicle Mechanic, exposure with Toyota vehicles.

Qualifications
: Mechanical Trade Qualification, Valid Australian Drivers Licence, Refrigerant Licence (desirable)
