We are seeking an experienced and motivated
Senior Accountant
to deliver high-quality client work while mentoring junior team members and managing your own small client portfolio. This is an excellent opportunity for someone wanting both career progression

About the Role

As the Senior Accountant, you will take ownership of your own client portfolio and deliver a broad range of accounting, tax, and advisory services. You will review work prepared by junior team members, attend client meetings with the Manager/Partner, and play a key role in maintaining high-quality service standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review financial statements and tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts, and partnerships
  • Prepare and review IAS and BAS
  • Provide and review bookkeeping services for clients
  • Prepare and review Fringe Benefits Tax returns
  • Prepare and review management accounts and financial reports
  • Attend client meetings alongside the Manager or Partner
  • Manage your own small client portfolio
  • Coach and support Graduate and Intermediate Accountants
  • Prepare client billing
  • Assist the Manager with workflow management and process improvements
  • Conduct tax research and support advisory, tax planning, and client updates
  • Maintain CPD requirements of your professional body
  • Complete daily timesheets
  • Achieve a minimum of 78% chargeable time

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Degree or diploma in Accounting
  • CPA or CA qualification completed or near completion

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • 3–5 years hands-on experience in public practice
  • Strong critical and analytical thinking
  • Proven experience working directly with clients
  • Excellent time-management and organisational skills
  • High attention to detail and strong technical knowledge
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Team-focused attitude with the ability to work collaboratively
