Position: Cook

Hours: 4-5 days per week, approximately 6.5 hours per day

Location: Gumnut Cottage, Coffs Harbour

We are seeking a reliable and passionate Cook to join our team in a busy and welcoming long-day care environment.

About the Role:

As our centre cook, you will be responsible for preparing and serving nutritious meals for children aged 0–5 years, catering to various dietary needs and allergies. You will work closely with our educators to provide healthy, balanced menus that support children's growth and development.

Key Responsibilities:

· Plan and prepare morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea in line with our menu plan.

· Cater for allergies, intolerances, and cultural dietary requirements.

· Maintain a clean, safe, and organised kitchen environment.

· Adhere to all food safety and hygiene standards.

· Order and manage food supplies within budget.

Requirements:

  • Experience working in a kitchen (child care or similar environment preferred but not essential).
  • Current Safe Food Handling Certificate / Food Safety Supervisor (or willingness to obtain).
  • Understanding of nutrition for young children (or willingness to obtain).
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
