Casual Kitchen Hand in a busy Commercial Production Kitchen based in Coburg North

Production kitchen operates from Monday to Thursday mornings. Early starts from 6am required. Suitable for someone who lives near Coburg North VIC 3058 for easy early commute to work.

Your duties will include (but are not limited to) :

  • Executing all tasks required for high volume production, including cutting vegetables (5-8kgs), cooking soups (6 soups), making salads (4 salads) and operating a commercial food processor (training provided)
  • Ability to work fast under-pressure to meet completion time
  • Maintaining a hygienic, clean and safe kitchen (food safety & hygiene knowledge is required)
  • Following all policies and procedures to maintain a clean and safe workplace
  • Assisting other staff members where needed
  • Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure a timely production
  • Washing dishes
  • Preparing cleanse packs and packaging materials and other tasks as required

The successful applicant will have a happy, enthusiastic and positive personality, and enjoy working in a very fast-paced environment with a great team and are always taking initiatives to learn and improve. You will be taking direction from the Kitchen Manager, working closely alongside other staff members. Training is provided, but prior experience in a busy kitchen environment with cutting skills are essential.

The work is very physical and includes heavy lifting (12-15kg bags), therefore a level of strong physical fitness is a must. You must have your own transport or able to arrange early transportation to work, be extremely reliable and punctual with time. You must be a team member that is passionate about the job. Excellent knife skills is highly preferable. The best part - NO customer service is required.

Hours will vary according to demand. Shifts will be between the hours of 6am-2pm (exact start and finish times will vary) so full availability during these times is required.
