We are currently on the hunt for an experienced and capable Operations Supervisor for an immediate start, located at our Toowoomba branch. The position of the Operations Supervisor will report to the Branch Manager therefore, it will require someone who can confidently run the warehouse in line with our company policies and procedures.

The main responsibility of this role is to oversee and supervise the warehouse operations on a day-to-day basis. This includes staffing, receiving, picking, packing, loading and unloading products to facilitate the smooth and efficient movement of goods.

Other duties include:

  • Ensure all equipment is maintained and serviced routinely to minimise breakdowns
  • Ensure products are received, stored and dispatched in the most efficient, space effective and safe manner
  • Ensuring housekeeping standards are kept at the highest level
  • Managing incoming and outgoing deliveries
  • Lead, supervise and mentor staff
  • Daily workforce planning
  • Conduct daily; weekly and monthly tool box meetings with direct reports
  • Ensure staff are appropriately skilled and trained
  • To take a hands on approach in the distribution warehouse

To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate must have:

  • Knowledge of steel products would be an advantage
  • Knowledge and experience in warehousing and distribution operations
  • Previous supervisory skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
