Systems Engineer – Integration

Our client is a trusted Federal Government supplier delivering sovereign solutions that strengthen Australia's Defence capability. Within their team of high-performing professionals, they are seeking a Systems Engineer – Integration to support multiple systems and software projects.

Responsibilities include:

  • Interpret User Needs Statements and develop integrated C4I concepts.
  • Analyse Mechanical/Electrical designs and technical documentation, providing subject matter expertise.
  • Develop and execute elements of the Engineering Management Plan (EMP), including Technical Certification Plans, Briefs, and Safety Case Reports.
  • Contribute to the Technical Certification process and conduct engineering change activities.
  • Audit platform configurations and apply engineering standards during design reviews.
  • Support system implementation, rollout, and testing to ensure compliance with approved specifications.

Some of the preferred skills and experiences our ideal candidate will possess:

  • Tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in Engineering within Defence.
  • Proven track record delivering Defence integration projects.
  • Experience in complex, logistically intensive Defence environments.
  • Ability to lead technical integration activities and work cross-functionally.

Duties will include (not limited to)

  • Conduct requirements analysis and development.
  • Lead system design, implementation, and integration.
  • Execute Verification, Validation (V&V), and certification processes.
  • Plan and deliver compliant engineering services, managing resources and ensuring outcomes.
  • Review and assess contract deliverables for technical accuracy.
  • Minimum 5 years' relevant industry experience in systems or integration engineering.
  • Demonstrated experience with system-level engineering, hazard analysis, and certification.
  • Strong ability to produce design documentation and technical reports.
  • Deep understanding of Defence capability integration, ODCS, and FIC.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and project planning skills.
  • Proven ability to manage risk, timelines, and technical delivery effectively.
  • Experience within C4I or Land domain Defence projects is highly regarded.

Duration: 10 months (Initial)

Clearance: AGSVA NV1 (essential)
