We are currently recruiting for an experienced and detail-oriented Assistant Manager, Accounting to join the Sydney office of our client — a global organisation with strong ties to Asia. This is a key role supporting the finance operations of the local business, while coordinating closely with senior leadership and Head Office overseas.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong accounting fundamentals, payroll experience, and a proactive approach to process improvement and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage daily accounting functions, including journal entries, GL, AP/AR, and reconciliations
  • Oversee payroll data preparation, superannuation, tax (FBT, PAYG), and reporting
  • Handle banking transactions, credit card reconciliations, and cash flow monitoring
  • Prepare monthly/quarterly/annual financial reports for internal and head office use
  • Liaise with Head Office and external advisors on tax, audit, and reporting matters
  • Support internal control processes and JSOX compliance (if applicable)
Ideal Candidate:
  • 3+ years of accounting/finance experience in a corporate or multinational environment
  • Solid understanding of Australian accounting standards and payroll/tax regulations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel); Xero or MYOB experience a plus
  • Strong attention to detail, time management, and communication skills
  • Experience working with international teams or Japanese-affiliated companies is advantageous
  • Japanese language skills (business level) are desirable but not essential
