About the Company
Our client is a fast-growing global footwear brand operating under an exclusive licence within the safety and industrial space. Now several years into their journey, they've built a dynamic team of around 25 people across North America, Europe, and Australia, with a small but important base in Melbourne that reflects their Australian founding roots.
Originally a purely distribution-led organisation, they've recently expanded into direct wholesale in key markets to meet growing demand. While distribution remains central, the model is increasingly demand-driven, manufacturing to order and partnering closely with customers and distributors.
It's a fun, agile, and ambitious business that values quality, collaboration, and strategic growth, offering a rare opportunity to help shape the next chapter of their global expansion.
About role
This newly created Finance Manager / Finance Business Partner role exists to build commercial capability and support the Global Head of Finance as the business scales. It blends hands-on finance operations (AP/AR, reconciliations, month-end) with commercial partnering (forecasting, modelling, reporting, insight):
Finance Operations & Reporting
•Manage core finance processes including AP, AR, bank and intercompany reconciliations, general ledger, and month-/year-end close.
•Assist in preparing management accounts, financial reports, budgets, forecasts, and cashflow analysis.
•Maintain accurate financial systems and support ERP, expense management, and global banking processes.
Commercial Partnering & Analysis
•Analyse financial and operational performance to provide clear, actionable insights.
•Manage the full P&L for the international wholesale business and support strategic decision-making across markets and functions.
•Present findings to senior leaders and help teams understand the financial 'why' behind business decisions.
Continuous Improvement & Systems
•Identify process gaps and opportunities to streamline finance operations.
•Support automation, analytics initiatives, and enhancements to workflows, reporting, and compliance.
•Contribute to board reporting and audits, ensuring accuracy and transparency.
About you
This role suits someone with experience in retail, supply chain, manufacturing, or other tangible product environments, ideally in a Finance Manager or Finance Business Partner capacity. The ideal candidate is commercially minded yet not afraid to be hands-on, comfortably supporting transactional finance tasks such as AP and AR while also delivering meaningful analysis and insights.
Qualifications & Skills
• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA/CA preferred.
• Experience in management accounting, financial analysis, or supply chain finance.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial systems, and ERP environments
• High proficiency in Excel and financial modelling.
• Excellent attention to detail, organisation, and follow-through.
• Strong communication skills and confidence partnering with non-finance stakeholders.
• Experience in a tangible product business and understanding of supply chain operations preferred.
• Continuous improvement mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-scaling environment.
