The Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA) is a peak body for the counselling and psychotherapy profession in Australia with approximately 11,800 members nationally. PACFA is dedicated to supporting its members and the community by regulating the training and practice of psychotherapy, counselling and Indigenous healing practices to the highest standards of safety, quality and professionalism. Our regulatory functions include certification, registration, accreditation and complaints management. PACFA is a member of Allied Health Professions Australia (AHPA) and the National Alliance of Self Regulating Health Professions (NASRHP).
Position purposeOne of PACFA's core business functions is education, training and accreditation, and development and delivery of timely and high-quality accreditation services associated with that function. Additionally, the Education team, supported by this role, manages projects related to the requirements of PACFA's membership with AHPA and NASRHP, as well as broader initiatives in the counselling, Indigenous healing practices and psychotherapy education landscape.
About the roleAs the Education Projects Support Officer, Accreditation, you will assist in the day-to-day coordination and administration of PACFA's accreditation function. Reporting to the Head of Education, you will help deliver the accreditation workplan, provide administrative and meeting support to the Accreditation Committee and Accreditation Assessment Teams, and contribute to the smooth operation of PACFA's education, CPD and accreditation activities.
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
- assisting with day-to-day administration that supports PACFA's accreditation processes and record management,
- providing administrative and meeting support to the committees, working groups and assessment teams, including preparing and circulating agenda and papers, distributing key documents and tracking follow-up actions,
- supporting the organisation and coordination of program accreditation reviews and site visits, including documentation and logistical arrangements,
- responding to enquiries from education providers, committee members, assessors and other stakeholders, and prepare standard correspondence, and
- contributing to continuous improvement of PACFA's education, CPD and accreditation activities.
You are a highly organised administrator with strong attention to detail and a focus on supporting processes and people. You can manage competing priorities calmly, communicate clearly with a range of stakeholders, and keep documentation and records accurate and up to date. You are confident using a range of information systems, particularly the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel), Adobe Pro, Zoom and databases, and are comfortable working in a small, collaborative team.
You have:
- strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with various stakeholders,
- well-developed planning, organisational and time management skills, with accuracy and attention to detail, and the ability to prioritise administrative and meeting support tasks effectively,
- demonstrated ability to understand and apply policies, procedures and operational standards relevant to education, training, CPD and accreditation processes, and
- the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a small team, showing initiative and adaptability.
It would be beneficial, though not essential, if you also have:
- experience in professional regulation, education or health sectors,
- understanding of tertiary education sector and/or professional education; or
- a relevant tertiary qualification.
