About the role:

As the Clinical Diabetes Nurse Educator, your duties may include:

  • Providing proficient, person centred, clinical diabetes nursing care and individual case management to patients in the Out of Hospital Service.
  • Managing Diabetes related technology in both the inpatient and outpatient setting.
  • Participating in clinical teaching, overseeing learning experience, and goal setting for students, new staff and staff with less experience.
  • Delivering Group education sessions to patients, staff and community groups under the supervision of the RN3

About you:

  • To be Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse and Midwife by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
  • At least 3 years, full time equivalent, post registration experience
  • Competence in Diabetes Education, Diabetes Technology and Management nursing practice in accordance with the relevant standards.
  • Experience in the leadership and direction of student nurses, enrolled nurses and less experienced registered nurses.
