Clinical Nurse – Palliative Care | Make a Meaningful Impact

Southern Adelaide Palliative Service (SAPS) provides specialist palliative care to people living in Southern Adelaide. A range of services are offered to support patients and the important people in their lives. We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Clinical Nurse – Palliative Care to join our dedicated multidisciplinary team. In this rewarding role within our SAPS community and consult liaison teams, you will provide high-quality, patient-centred care to individuals with life-limiting illnesses, supporting their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.

About the role:

Reporting to the Manager, Community Palliative Care Service in this role your clinical expertise and empathetic approach will help ensure comfort, dignity, and respect for patients and their families during challenging times. Duties for the role will include:

• Provision of senior clinical nursing support to patients within the community and to inpatients referred to specialist palliative care within the local health network.
• Provide palliative care nursing services across a variety of health service settings which has been consolidated by experience and/or further study with staff at this level developing from competent to proficient practitioners.
• The Clinical Nurse role at this level continues to be predominantly clinical in nature; however employees are assigned appropriate portfolios.
• Supports and works collaboratively with less experienced members of the nursing team

About you:

• Experience in working with a palliative care population
• Ability to prioritise workload and meet set timelines, whilst working under minimal supervision
• Effective communication, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and negotiation skills
• Ability to engage relevant clinical teams to foster ongoing communication and research study referrals and progress

To be considered for the RN2C (Clinical Nurse) level you must have at least three years, full time equivalent, post registration experience with experience in the leadership and direction of student nurses, enrolled nurses, and less experienced registered nurses.
