
Operations Manager

Reliable Asset Maintenance is looking for an experienced, hands-on, forward-thinking Operations Manager to lead our daily operations, manage team performance, and implement structured systems across our business. This pivotal leadership role will work closely with the Director and division Managers to embed sustainable processes that support growth, compliance, and exceptional service delivery.
Reliable Asset Maintenance is a rapidly growing, family run, trade services company, where the team has over a decade worth of successful experience in the Western Australian market.
This portfolio is spread across a number of industries and will expose the successful candidate to a diverse range of works and sites.
Tasks and duties including but not limited to:1. Strategic Leadership & Planning

Lead daily operations across all departments (administration, projects, maintenance)

Collaborate with the Director to set and execute strategic goals

Support growth initiatives and oversee implementation
-
Monitor company performance and identify areas for improvement
-
Provide leadership and mentorship to department leads and team members
-
Manage internal team matters and resolve conflict
-
Run weekly operations meetings and check-ins
-
Foster a positive, cohesive team culture
-
Oversee onboarding and training for new hires in collaboration with department heads
-
Develop, document, and implement all internal systems and workflows
-
Create and maintain SOPs for administration, project, and service delivery tasks
-
Drive system adoption across the business
-
Work with the Administration Manager to ensure WHS compliance is met across all operations
-
Oversee adherence to company policies and procedures
-
Develop meaningful KPIs for administration, projects, field staff, and service desk
-
Implement tracking mechanisms for KPIs
-
Review performance reports and provide insights to the Director
-
Adjust workflows and support based on performance trends
-
Oversee scheduling, invoicing, project delivery, and customer service functions
-
Monitor the execution of 200–300 monthly maintenance jobs
-
Support project delivery alongside the Project Manager and Leading Hand
-
Manage resource allocation and workflow prioritisation
-
Act as the central point of contact for internal team queries and concerns
-
Liaise between departments to ensure smooth cross-functional operations
-
Communicate regularly with the Director and Administration Manager on operational performance
-
Represent operations in client or partner meetings where required
-
Identify inefficiencies and implement system improvements
-
Research and recommend tools, technologies, and solutions
-
Develop internal feedback loops for process optimisation
-
Lead business improvement initiatives aligned with RAM's growth plan
Proven Leadership Experience

Demonstrated ability to lead and manage multidisciplinary teams
-
Confident in handling performance conversations and building team culture
-
Experience resolving internal issues constructively and fairly
-
Deep understanding of service-based business operations, ideally in building, construction, or facilities maintenance
-
Experience implementing and improving workflows, systems, and procedures
-
Ability to balance strategic oversight with hands-on problem-solving
-
Skilled in documenting and rolling out new processes and SOPs
-
Experience with job management, CRM, scheduling, and compliance systems
-
Capable of identifying gaps and building scalable operational structures
-
Ability to create, track, and report on KPIs across departments
-
Comfortable using data to drive accountability and decision-making
-
Experience coaching others to meet targets and standards
-
Strong written and verbal communication skills
-
Able to confidently engage with team members, clients, and leadership
-
Maintains transparency and clarity when implementing change
-
Works well with others, especially across administration, trades, and leadership
-
Reads team dynamics and acts early to keep cohesion strong
-
Builds trust and rapport quickly with internal and external stakeholders
-
Highly organised with the ability to juggle competing priorities

Proactive in identifying issues and delivering solutions

Flexible and open-minded in a growing, fast-paced business

Experience in the building maintenance or construction sector

Understanding of compliance requirements (WHS, Defence, government contracts)

Familiarity with regional and metro job coordination is a plus
