The Role
An opportunity has become available for a Nurse Unit Manager (Short Stay) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Responsible for staff management and delivery of roster
- Work collaboratively and foster a relationship with the multidisciplinary team and leaders
- Be clinically competent within nursing standards and fundamentals of care
- Develop and encourage a learning environment by mentoring and promoting team development
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
- Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent
- Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary
- Permanent Full time
- Base salary ranging from $132,562 - $143,924 per annum
About Us
The Varsity Short Stay Surgical unit (VSSU) is a 24-bed ward located on level 1 Varsity Lakes Day Hospital. VSSU is a mixed surgical ward caring for patients with acute surgical conditions, patients requiring over night care following elective surgical procedures (23hr model). This ward provides high quality, safe, patient-focused care in collaboration with a dynamic multidisciplinary team to patients who access the service yearly for elective surgery for surgical specialities including General Surgery, Breast surgery, Orthopaedics, Gynaecology, Gastroenterology Scope Pts and Plastics.
