Domestic Regional Technical Officer (Canberra, NV2 clearance – 100% Onsite)

The
Domestic Regional Technical Officer
provides
onsite ICT support and field engineering services
across Canberra-based operations. The role focuses on the
installation, maintenance, and support of end-user computing, networking, and communications infrastructure
within secure environments. It requires a hands-on technical mindset, the ability to work autonomously, and strong stakeholder engagement to ensure dependable ICT service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver
    onsite ICT support
    and troubleshooting for Canberra-based users and systems.
  • Install, configure, and maintain
    end-user devices, network, and communications systems
    .
  • Support the
    installation, configuration, and decommissioning
    of systems and infrastructure.
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation and
    Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
    .
  • Conduct
    incident and problem management
    activities following ITIL and SFIA frameworks.
  • Support
    UPS systems
    and ensure physical infrastructure is properly maintained.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and
    liaise with stakeholders
    on technical issues.
  • Demonstrate initiative and analytical problem-solving for complex or undocumented issues.
  • Perform after-hours or weekend work when required for operational continuity.

Essential Criteria

  • Demonstrated experience supporting and maintaining
    complex ICT systems
    .
  • Proven ability to install and support
    desktop and end-user computing hardware/software
    .
  • Hands-on experience with
    printer installation, configuration, and troubleshooting
    .
  • Understanding of
    UPS systems
    and related maintenance.
  • Familiarity with
    physical network and server infrastructure
    , including cabling and device setup.
  • Active NV2 security clearance
    (PV clearance desirable).

Desirable Criteria

  • Understanding of
    logical networking concepts
    (DHCP, VLANs, subnetting, routing).
  • Open Cabling Registration
    .
  • Senior First Aid
    certification.
  • White Card
    and safety certifications (e.g., working at heights, confined spaces, asbestos awareness).
  • Awareness of
    Australian Government ICT security and operational standards
    .

Qualifications

  • ICT or networking qualifications (e.g., Diploma in IT, CompTIA Network+, CCNA) desirable.
  • Valid driver's licence and ability to travel locally as needed.
