About CAWLS

The
Central Australian Women's Legal Service (CAWLS)
is a community legal centre supporting women across Central Australia and the Barkly Region. We provide legal help, education, and advocacy with a strong focus on domestic and family violence.

The Role

Based in Alice Springs, you'll be part of our
Health Justice Partnership
, working closely with health providers to:

  • Provide legal advice and representation in family law, domestic and family violence, and child protection matters
  • Respond to referrals from hospitals and clinics
  • Deliver outreach and community legal education
  • Collaborate with health professionals to strengthen referral pathways and support women's safety

What You'll Bring

  • Eligibility to hold a NT Practising Certificate
  • Experience in family/domestic violence law (desirable)
  • Strong communication, cultural awareness, and commitment to social justice
  • Ability to work independently and in a close-knit team
  • NT Driver's Licence, Ochre Card, and Police Check (or ability to obtain)
