Melbourne Water is at the heart of Greater Melbourne's liveability, managing water supply, wastewater, drainage, and waterways for more than five million people. Reporting to the Executive General Manager, Corporate Services, the CIO will lead Melbourne Water's enterprise-wide information and technology strategy, operations, and innovation agenda. This is a pivotal role driving digital transformation, strengthening cyber resilience, and ensuring our technology platforms and services are aligned to organisational strategy and deliver real value for customers, employees, and the community.
As CIO, you will provide strategic leadership across:
Digital Strategy & Architecture
- shaping and implementing Melbourne Water's Digital Strategy, guiding technology roadmaps, vendor partnerships, and the adoption of automation, AI and emerging technologies.
Cyber Security & Risk Management
- overseeing the protection of Melbourne Water's data and information assets, aligning cyber security practices with corporate risk frameworks, and ensuring business continuity and resilience.
Data Strategy & Governance
- ensuring the integrity, reliability and security of enterprise systems and data, and embedding governance policies that meet regulatory and compliance standards.
Service & Operational Performance
- leading IT operations across infrastructure, applications, service delivery and vendor management, ensuring systems are reliable, efficient, and future-ready
People & Culture
- leading and inspiring an engaged, diverse and high-performing team, driving innovation and embedding a culture of collaboration, adaptability, and continuous improvement.
You will be recognised as a seasoned executive technology leader with deep experience in developing and delivering enterprise-wide IT strategies and digital transformation within complex and highly regulated environments. Your pragmatic approach, combined with your expertise in cyber security, cloud computing, and data management will be further complemented by your proven ability to influence business change, lead through transformation, and inspire integrated teams to deliver value. You will bring sound commercial and financial acumen, with an ability to effectively manage vendor relationships to ensure value for money and high delivery standards. If you are a pragmatic and strategic technology leader, motivated by delivering on community value and outcomes, we'd love to hear from you.
A tertiary qualification in Information Technology is essential, with postgraduate qualifications highly desired.
