  • Support the preparation of enforcement documentation including briefs of evidence, witness statements, records of interviews and investigation reports.
  • Assist in undertaking interviews and applying statutory powers in accordance with legal, ethical and procedural standards.
  • Ensure investigation activities are recorded accurately and securely using NHVR's case management systems.
  • Work collaboratively with law enforcement, prosecutors and other NHVR teams to support high-quality regulatory outcomes.
  • Escalate complex issues, case risks, or legislative ambiguities to the Senior Investigator for review and resolution.
  • Participate in debriefings, peer reviews and capability-building activities as part of the national Major Investigations function.
  • Maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and procedural integrity across all investigations.
  • Adhere to NHVR internal policies, procedures, WHS obligations, and ethical standards.

About You

  • Demonstrated experience conducting criminal or regulatory investigations, preferably involving systemic breaches or corporate accountability.
  • Knowledge of evidence gathering techniques, case management protocols and enforcement pathways.
  • Sound understanding of the HVNL and CoR principles or demonstrated capacity to quickly acquire this knowledge.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify risk patterns and support causation-based investigations.
  • High standard of written communication, including drafting investigation notes, reports and legal documentation.
  • Interpersonal skills to engage respectfully and effectively with industry stakeholders, legal representatives, and partner agencies.
  • Ability to work within structured governance frameworks while adapting to dynamic operational needs.
  • Commitment to continuous learning, ethical integrity and national regulatory impact.
