Warehouse Assistant

Warehouse worker's job involves the physical handling, storage, and movement of goods and inventory within a warehouse. Key responsibilities include receiving and unloading shipments, picking and packing orders, data entry into the operating system,  accurately recording inventory data, maintaining a safe and organised workspace, and operating machinery like forklifts. Essential skills for this role include strong organisational skills, attention to detail,  basic math skills for inventory, and the ability to work safely with equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Receiving & Unloading:Accepting incoming goods from trucks, checking paperwork, and inspecting items for damage or discrepancies.
• Order Picking & Packing:Locating, gathering, and preparing items for dispatch or shipping according to orders.
• Inventory Management:Counting and tracking stock levels, updating inventory records, and ensuring accurate data entry.
• Material Handling:Loading and unloading items using hand tools, pallet jacks, or forklifts to move and store goods.
• Warehouse Maintenance:Keeping the work area clean, organised, and free from hazards to maintain a safe environment.
• Customer Service: Handling customers complaints, Responding to customer inquiries.
• Data Entry: Accurately inputting information in computer systems for despatches and receiving in stock, completing sales orders, stock adjustments for inventory variances.

Essential Skills & Qualifications

• Computer Skills: Skills in database software, such as Unleashed, Shopify, Starshipit  and other data-entry platforms.
• Attention to Detail: Crucial for accurate counting, picking, and data recording.
• Organisational Skills: To manage stock, maintain a tidy workspace, and follow established procedures.
• Basic Math: For calculating inventory and processing documentation.
• Equipment Operation: Familiarity with and potentially certification to operate machinery such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
• Teamwork: The ability to work effectively with colleagues and under minimal supervision.
• Communication: Clear communication skills to coordinate with team members and suppliers.
