Temporary Pool - Guidance Officers - Darling Downs South West Region

Enthusiastic applicants are invited to join the Temporary Guidance Officer Pool for the Darling Downs South West Region in 2026.

Appointments may be offered at various DDSW locations, across different durations and fractions of full-time. Please note: submitting an application to this pool does not guarantee an offer of employment during 2026.

Applicants should have completed, or be on track to complete, the required qualifications by the end of 2025, in line with the mandatory Guidance Officer requirements.

Guidance Officers play a key role in supporting student wellbeing, engagement, and success across the region.

About the Role

DDSW Guidance Officer regularly support a number of schools in a circuit and travel may be required for these roles.  Housing and access to fleet cars may be available in some locations outside major centres within DDSW region.

As a Guidance Officer, you have the opportunity to:

  • Provide professional expertise, leadership and support to school communities and networks in the development and implementation of plans, programs, and procedures to assist students in achieving positive educational, developmental and lifelong learning outcomes;
  • Collaboratively negotiate, develop and implement programs for students that have a focus on preventative and early intervention strategies; are responsive to identified personal, social, emotional and educational needs; and aim to foster resilience and personal skills development.
