Beef Australia organises one of the world's premier beef cattle events and the largest of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere, held every three years in Rockhampton, Queensland. Attracting over 125,000 national and international visitors in 2024, Beef Australia took out two Golds at the Queensland Tourism Awards for Major Festival and Events and Food Tourism then secured Silver for Major Festival and Events at the Australian Tourism Awards.

Beef 2027 will celebrate the Australian beef industry through an extensive week-long program to be held 2 – 8 May 2027. Consisting of cattle competitions, trade show pavilions and precincts, ticketed functions, seminars and tours, free entertainment across multiple stages and a diverse range of dining, bar and food experiences – this is an opportunity and experience you to do not want to miss


ABOUT THE ROLE

An exciting opportunity exists for a dynamic and highly organised Trade Fair Coordinator to join the Beef 2027 Event Operations team. The Trade Fair Coordinator is responsible for the end-to-end coordination of the Beef Australia 2027 Trade Fair ensuring a seamless experience for exhibitors and stakeholders from the application process through to bump-out and post-event wrap up. Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, the Trade Fair Coordinator will be the main point of contact for up to 500 exhibitors - coordinating trade fair site bookings, accounts, and assisting the operations manager with event operations and logistics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Exhibitor account coordination, administration and reporting including collating applications, managing site bookings, payments, exhibitor information and updating floorplans.
  • Stakeholder communications including handling all incoming calls and emails from exhibitors with the support of an office administrator closer to the event.
  • Developing a freight and logistics schedule and managing forklift bookings.
  • Supporting the Operations Manager in the planning of Trade Fair bump-in and bump-out operations.
  • Assisting the Operations Manager with the planning and delivery of all Trade Fair infrastructure, equipment, and services (power, water etc).
  • Daily onsite attendance at the Beef 2027 event coordinating Trade Fair build, exhibitor bump-in, event week operations and exhibitor bump-out with the support of the operations team and site crew. (Please ensure you can commit to up to 4 weeks, including potential weekends, of onsite attendance at the event in April/May 2027 before applying for the role).
  • Preparing and contributing to post-event debriefs and reporting.
  • Contributing to a positive, proactive and supportive organisational vibe and customer service culture.
  • Contributing to a safe workplace and event site by communicating and promoting safe work practices and ensuring stakeholders are abiding by onsite WHS requirements.

ABOUT YOU

This is the perfect opportunity for any event professional who thrives in fast-paced, strenuous environments, is good with people and is eager to grow or transition their career into major event delivery while getting a taste of the rural life over a fixed-term contract. The ideal candidate will have experience working in exhibitions, events or projects involving a wide range of stakeholders with a proven track record in planning, administration and operational delivery or similar.

Your Skills and Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience in exhibition event planning and delivery or similar (internships, volunteer work or similar roles).
  • Demonstrated experience in stakeholder management or customer service role.
  • Advanced communication and interpersonal skills (both written and verbal).
  • Strategic thinker, self-motivated, energetic and flexible with a high degree of initiative and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks.
  • Ability to manage competing demands and problem solve.
  • Ability to focus and remain calm in fast-paced, strenuous working environments and adapt to working outside of normal business hours and office conditions.
  • Strong demonstrated use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Experience using project management, event management or CRM platforms such as EventsAIR (not essential).

This position is offered under a fixed term full time contract from November 2025 to June 2027, located at the Beef Australia office – 195 Bolsover Street, Rockhampton Queensland. Beef Australia is offering an attractive annual salary package and will consider flexible working conditions for the right candidate.
