Finance Manager / 2IC to Head of Finance
Location: Melbourne – CBD & Inner Suburbs
Type: Full-time, Permanent
We are seeking an experienced Finance Manager or Financial Controller to step into a critical 2IC role supporting the Head of Finance across two listed entities. This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of end-to-end finance operations, lead a small team, and drive process improvements across a dynamic, growing business.
About the Role:
As the Finance Manager / 2IC, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity of financial reporting and leading the team through month-end, quarter-end, and year-end processes. You'll have oversight across finance operations, treasury, and compliance while partnering closely with the business to deliver insights and improvements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead monthly and quarterly close processes, including all reconciliations and reporting
- Prepare monthly group results and support listed company reporting
- Own BAS, FBT, and annual tax calculations, working with external tax advisors
- Oversee payroll review and payroll tax calculations
- Manage company credit card expenditure review and approval
- Oversee revenue billing processes and support automation and process improvement initiatives
- Treasury management, including cashflow forecasting and liquidity planning
About You:
- CA/CPA qualified with experience as a Finance Manager or Financial Controller
- Proven ability to lead a small team and review/oversee end-to-end finance processes
- Strong technical skills across statutory reporting, tax, and month-end close
- Hands-on approach with excellent attention to detail and ability to drive process improvement
- Experience working in a listed environment (ASX reporting exposure desirable)
