About the role

YH Support is seeking a dedicated Male Disability Support Worker (early 20s preferred, as requested by the Participant) to join our team in Hamilton Hill, WA, and surrounding areas. This role focuses on supporting an NDIS participant to achieve their personal goals, build independence, and engage in meaningful daily activities.

Position Details:

  • Support required on Tuesdays and Fridays, 1:00pm – 4:00pm
  • Interests in online gaming and exercising will be highly regarded to encourage shared activities and positive engagement
  • Provide mentoring and guidance in day-to-day living skills to build confidence and independence
  • Promote social inclusion, choice, and capacity-building, in line with NDIS principles

If you are reliable, empathetic, and passionate about supporting others to live independently and meaningfully, we would love to hear from you.This is a casual role that will involve providing compassionate and high-quality care to our clients with disabilities. You will work closely with our clients to assist them with daily living activities and support their independence and wellbeing.

What you'll be doing

  • Assisting clients with personal care, such as showering, dressing, and grooming
  • Helping clients with household tasks, including meal preparation, cleaning, and laundry
  • Accompanying and supporting clients in the community, such as during social outings or appointments
  • Providing emotional support and engaging clients in meaningful activities
  • Documenting client progress and communicating with the broader care team
  • Adhering to all relevant policies, procedures, and safety protocols

What we're looking for

  • Certificate III in Disability
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check, Working with Children Check, National Police Clearance, up-to-date CPR and First Aid certification, Medication Administration Training, completed NDIS Orientation Modules, and other mandatory compliance checks as required.
  • Experience in providing person-centred support to individuals with disabilities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to make a positive difference in the lives of others
  • Reliable, flexible, and able to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and public holidays
  • A current driver's license and access to reliable transport
