Help us reshape the future of training in Transport and Logistics
Arrow Transport, Logistics and Quarantine Services is one of Australia's leading providers of transport and logistics solutions, operating across the nation. We're known for being reliable, customer-focused, and innovative, but what truly sets us apart is how we do things.
At Arrow, our values of People, Service, and Safety
drive every decision. We don't just follow industry norms, we challenge them. We're growing fast, investing in our people, and reshaping what training and development look like in transport and logistics.
That's why we're looking for a
Training Manager/
Learning & Development Manager
who can think differently. This is a unique opportunity to design and deliver engaging, forward-thinking training solutions across our national operations. If you're passionate about building a culture of continuous learning and using fresh tools and methods to make training practical, engaging and impactful, this is the role for you.
The role can be based in either our
Melbourne (Altona North)
office or our
Port of
Brisbane
office.
The role:
- Build and lead Arrow's national training function from the ground up, creating a consistent approach to workforce development across all states.
- Lead and develop a national training team by providing coaching, guidance and leadership to ensure consistent training standards, capability growth and collaboration.
- Own and manage Arrow's training matrix, establishing and maintaining accurate systems and records to meet all operational, compliance and legislative requirements.
- Design, deliver and evaluate training programs that cover the full spectrum from operational skills and compliance to leadership development and soft skills, continuously refining content to maximise impact.
- Create and launch engaging induction programs that set new starters up for success and embed Arrow's People, Service and Safety values from day one.
- Develop practical and engaging learning materials including manuals, e-learning modules, training videos and interactive content tailored for transport and logistics roles.
- Facilitate training sessions both face-to-face and virtually to provide consistent learning experiences across multiple sites.
- Drive innovation in training delivery by exploring new methods such as AI-powered tools and fresh approaches to content creation that challenge industry norms and keep Arrow at the forefront of learning.
- Partner with teams across the business to ensure all training is accurate, aligned with legislation and standards, and audit-ready.
- Maintain accurate reporting through Arrow's HR and Learning Management Systems, generating compliance data and completion rates for internal and external audits.
- Champion workforce development by identifying skills gaps, creating pathways for career progression and supporting leaders with on-the-job training, coaching and mentoring.
- Embed a culture of continuous learning that makes training practical, engaging and accessible for all employees, building confidence and capability at every level of the business.
- Collaborate with leaders and external partners, including ELT, State Managers and training providers, to align programs with business needs and deliver specialised or accredited learning when required.
What you will need to succeed
- Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (TAE40122 or equivalent).
- Proven experience developing and delivering training in a corporate or operational setting.
- Strong understanding of compliance, WHS legislation, and transport/logistics standards.
- Experience in content creation (manuals, e-learning, presentations).
- Excellent communication, facilitation and stakeholder management skills.
- Flexibility to travel nationally.
- Experience in transport, logistics, or warehousing.
- Familiarity with HRIS/LMS systems and e-learning tools.
- Experience working with People & Culture, HSE, and Compliance functions.
What sets you apart
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proactive and innovative mindset, with a willingness to challenge standard approaches.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build credibility at all levels.
- Commitment to Arrow's values of People, Service, and Safety.
Why you will love working with us
- Be part of a growing national business that is investing in its people.
- Partner with an engaged team redefining learning in transport.
- Lead the charge on innovation in training rather than relying on stock-standard programs.
- Play a key role in shaping a national workforce development strategy.
