We are seeking multiple IBM Middleware Specialists to join a critical national Defence program. This is a rare opportunity to contribute to a high-profile project within a secure and complex environment.

About the Role As an IBM Middleware Specialist, you will play a key role in the delivery and support of middleware solutions that underpin mission-critical Defence systems. You will be working as part of a collaborative project team ensuring secure, scalable, and reliable middleware services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, configure, and support IBM middleware platforms within secure Defence environments
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex integration and performance issues
  • Ensure compliance with Defence security and accreditation requirements
  • Collaborate with architects, developers, and infrastructure teams to deliver seamless integration solutions
  • Provide technical documentation, knowledge transfer, and ongoing support

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience as an IBM Middleware Specialist (WebSphere, MQ, IIB, or similar)
  • Strong background in middleware configuration, integration, and support
  • Experience in Defence, Federal Government, or other highly regulated environments
  • Knowledge of security frameworks, system hardening, and compliance standards
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment

Requirements

  • NV1 Security Clearance minimum (NV2 highly desirable)

Contract Details

  • 12-month contract with likely extension
  • Canberra based (on-site work required)
