We are seeking an experienced Middleware Administrator to support the upgrade and maintenance of critical middleware environments in Canberra, ACT. This role focuses on the administration of key IBM platforms — MQ, App Connect Enterprise (ACE), ISDS, and ISAM — to ensure secure, stable, and high-performing systems as part of environment uplift and transformation activities.

You will play a key role in patching, configuration, migration, and support efforts across development, test, and production environments.

• Administer, monitor, and upgrade IBM MQ environments, ensuring continuity and performance

• Support environment upgrades and configuration changes for IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE)

• Manage and maintain IBM Security Directory Server (ISDS) for identity and access management

• Configure, support, and upgrade IBM Security Access Manager (ISAM) for secure web access

• Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and application teams during environment refreshes and release cycles

• Assist with testing, troubleshooting, patching, and deployment in accordance with change management processes

• Maintain documentation on environment configurations, upgrade steps, and operational procedures

The ideal candidate will have a background in middleware administration with a focus on maintaining and upgrading IBM integration platforms in enterprise environments.

Essential:

• Strong administration experience with IBM MQ, including clustering, patching, and performance tuning

• Working knowledge of IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE) administration and support

• Experience managing ISDS and ISAM, including upgrades and configuration tasks

• Familiarity with middleware deployment and support processes in enterprise environments

• Understanding of secure infrastructure practices and system integration

• Excellent communication, documentation, and coordination skills

Desirable:

• Experience working with or within government or regulated environments.
