Junior/Trainee Mechanical Draftsperson

MATO is a world-wide market leader in Conveyor Belt Maintenance Equipment. We are the OEM of high-quality German and Australian produced products for the mining, industrial & automotive industries.

We are seeking a Junior/Trainee Draftsperson to join our Conveyor Belt Maintenance division. You will be responsible for drawing machinery and mechanical components and be involved in the design process of new conveyor belt maintenance products.

You will have recently completed or be working towards a qualification in Engineering Drafting.

Key responsibilities and requirements:

  • Experience using SolidWorks for modelling and review
  • Proven experience creating and modifying CAD models, to create drawings of both new and existing components
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and sketches
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications
  • Understanding of electronic filing and organisational requirements
  • Work collaboratively with sales and other staff, under direction from the Drafting Engineer.

This is a part-time (30hpw) position with the potential to become full-time. It is based at our Thornton production facility.
