About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Civil Quantity Surveyor to join our team and support the successful delivery of civil infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil works, including temporary works management, and proven experience in both contract administration and estimating within the Australian construction industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and submit progress claims, variations, and departures in accordance with contract requirements.
  • Undertake cost forecasting, budget reviews, and financial reporting to ensure projects remain within approved budgets.
  • Assist in estimating and cost planning for new tenders and project changes, including take-offs, pricing, and risk assessments.
  • Collaborate closely with project and estimating teams to analyze scope, review subcontractor quotations, and ensure cost accuracy.
  • Prepare commercial reports, cost breakdowns, and financial summaries for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support the management and administration of contracts, including correspondence with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Contribute to the management of temporary works, ensuring all associated costs and documentation are properly controlled.
  • Participate in project meetings, providing accurate financial data, cost analysis, and recommendations to assist decision-making.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the Australian civil infrastructure sector.
  • Proven experience in estimating and tender preparation for civil construction projects.
  • Background in temporary works management or related cost control.
  • Strong understanding of contract administration, including departures, variations, and claims.
  • Demonstrated skills in cost forecasting, cost control, and financial reporting.
  • Excellent communication and report-writing skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in estimating and quantity surveying software (e.g. Excel, Candy, Cubit, or similar).
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or Civil Engineering.
