Senior Speech Pathologist - Medicare Mental Health Kids Hub
Service Delivery Directorate - Child Youth & Family Division
About the role
Medicare Mental Health Kids Hub is a new community based service providing mental health and wellbeing support for children up to the age of 12 years.
As a Senior Speech Pathologist at Medicare Mental Health Kids Hub, you'll play a core role in completing multidisciplinary assessments, case formulation, and collaborative treatment planning and delivery to children (0-12 years) experiencing mild to moderate mental health and well-being challenges. You'll take a child centred approach but will extend your scope to focus on the families and carers of our clients to contribute a truly wholistic health service in our community.
In this role you'll complete child centred assessments, contribute to case formulation, and deliver treatment to support children, families and carers as part of a truly wholistic service for children.
You'll work individually and in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team and external health providers to provide specialised support in a range of environments as part of our flexible service model.
As well as your clinical role, you'll use your expertise to help shape the future direction of a new and dynamic service and build capacity in the community.
You'll have the benefit of working within an environment of flexible practice and adaptive service delivery with an experienced multidisciplinary team including allied health, nursing and medical staff, which will allow you to utilise the extended resources of a Hub based service, adding to the scope of the support you'll receive and be able to provide.
You'll work closely with a range of internal and external care providers and partner organisations across health, education, social services, Aboriginal health, and disability sectors to ensure continuity of care for our clients and build capacity for service delivery for children in our community, which will make full use of your communication and clinical skills.
At Medicare Mental Health Kids Hub, you'll be providing high-quality clinical services, and will also contribute to shaping the future direction of a new and dynamic service, and building capacity within the Hub and in the community to enhance supports for children and families.
