AkindaCo PTY LTD is a private practice that provides high-quality, person-centered therapeutic support to individuals, particularly those accessing the NDIS, private clients, and those facing complex social, emotional, and developmental challenges. Our focus is on enhancing emotional, social, and cognitive well-being through holistic and systemic therapy approaches.

Position Overview:

We are seeking an
Art Psychotherapist

to join our team. The role involves providing therapeutic support through creative arts therapy, tailored to the needs of diverse clients including children, families, and adult individuals. This position includes working across multiple sites, offering individual and group therapy, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

You will work under the supervision of a qualified Art Psychotherapist and receive support to complete ongoing training in Art Therapy as part of your role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, evidence-based responsive individual and group art therapy interventions.
  • Develop personalised treatment plans to meet client goals using various artistic mediums.
  • Conduct art therapy sessions with a focus on developmental delay, trauma, and disabilities.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals and a multi-disciplinary teams (MDT) to deliver integrated therapeutic care.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with organisational policies.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and supervision in line with
    ANZACATA and/or PACFA

requirements.
- Participate in case conferences, school transition meetings, and other relevant meetings as needed.
- Conduct initial assessments as part of AkindaCo's MDT approach, complete relevant clinical screenings, pre-therapy measures, outcome measures and risk assessments, and complete therapy plans.
- Provide outreach and home visits across Adelaide, attending meetings as needed.
- Contribute to teaching and mentoring students on placement, when applicable.

Skills & Experience:

Essential:

  • Undergraduate or Master's degree in Art Therapy or equivalent recognized by ANZACATA and/or CCET membership of PACFA.
  • Registration as a professional

ANZACATA

member or CCET member of PACFA.
- Experience in a helping profession such as support work, education, psychology, or allied health.
- Experience working with children and families, including those affected by trauma or developmental delay.
- Understanding of a wide range of visual arts practices.

Desirable:

  • Previous clinical practice in a similar environment.
  • Familiarity with NDIS guidelines.
  • Experience working with NDIS clients and familiarity with NDIS guidelines is desirable.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in creative arts therapy.
  • Registration membership number with ANZACATA or PACFA.
  • Satisfactory DHS Working with Children Check and National Criminal History Check.
  • Willingness to undergo NDIS worker screening.
  • Ability to work evenings or extra shifts as required.
