The College

The Springfield Anglican College (TSAC) is a coeducational Kindergarten to Year 12 school with an enrolment of approximately 1200 students. TSAC is a leading independent school in the rapidly developing growth corridor of South West Brisbane. Just 30 minutes from Brisbane CBD, the College comprises of two campuses, dedicated to Primary and Secondary schooling, respectively.

The College's OSHC is a vibrant service which operates on the Primary Campus, caring primarily for Early Years students (Early Years ABCC) and Primary aged students (ABCC). ABCC provides care for our students during school terms and school vacation periods.

The Role

Join our supportive, inclusive and professional After and Before College Care/Vacation Care team and play a vital role in the delivery of our high-quality program. Utilise your experience, qualifications and most of all your enjoyment of working with children to actively supervise, interact and engage with children within a collaborative environment.

Opportunities are currently available for qualified, experienced, and motivated Casual OSHC Educators to join our dedicated After and Before College Care and Vacation Care team both in our Early Years and School Aged Services.

• Early Years Educators - as an Early Years Educator you must hold (or be working towards) an Early Childhood Education and Care or an equivalent early childhood qualification as approved by ACECQA.

• Educators for School Aged OSHC - As an OSHC Educator you must hold (or be working towards) a Certificate, Diploma or Bachelor in an ACECQA approved area of study.

These are casual positions with minimum hours per week to be negotiated. During term time there may be a need to work split shifts, however, we have the ability to be flexible and work around other commitments. University students studying early childhood, primary or secondary education are encouraged to apply.

It is a mandatory requirement for Outside School Hours Care Educators to hold a current and valid Queensland Working with Children Paid Blue Card. You will also hold (or be willing to obtain) current First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis and Asthma Management certificates (HLTAID012) and have full Australian working rights.

Reporting to the Director of After and Before College Care (ABCC), the educator will be responsible for the following objectives:

• Actively supervise, interact, and engage with the College's students, providing learning opportunities for them as appropriate in an OSHC environment.

• Greet families and communicate with children and their parents to enhance well established partnerships between families and the service, and to develop new partnerships with future families in a highly professional manner.

• Administer simple first aid to children.

• Ensure the appropriate supervision of children at all times – inside and outside of College buildings.

• Check all equipment and the environment regularly to ensure it is safe for use by children and provide informative feedback to the Director on the safety of the equipment and environment.

• Assist with the preparation and clean-up of activities.

• Assist with registration of children on arrival and departure from the service.

• Perform general duties associated with the operation of the service.
