Training and Development Officer

The Digital Innovation Division (DID) is looking for an individual who is highly

In support of the department's Digital Services Plan , the Training and Development Officer will help build the digital capability of our workforce, enabling them to thrive in a rapidly changing digital future. This will be achieved by
delivering quality-assured and responsive training services that meet workforce needs and address the digital divide.

About the Role

The Training and Development Officer designs, develops and delivers training to support the effective use of a range of IT services and systems, including the department's:

• Collaboration and communication suites and tools, including Microsoft 365 and Apple native apps
• Learning Management Ecosystem, including Canvas
• Student and school data management system (OneSchool)
• Teaching and learning
• Finance and student management
• Parent communication application (QParents)
• Other enterprise platforms and applications.

About You

The below items represent highly desirable qualities that the ideal candidate would possess:

• Working knowledge of instructional design principles and frameworks, and experience in facilitation of adult learning.
• Knowledge of or experience with one or more of the services or systems listed within the Your Role section in the role description.

Your Responsibilities

As the Training and Development Officer, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Apply knowledge of adult learning and learning design principles and work collaboratively with the team, stakeholders and customers to design, develop and deliver training to various staff audiences across the state.
• Control, monitor, and evaluate training content to ensure quality, consistency and accessibility of messages, and optimal use of instructional techniques and chosen media.
• Contribute to the assessment of training needs through surveys, stakeholder interviews with employees, focus groups, or consultation with managers, instructors, or customer representatives; and analyse datasets and identify possible solutions or pathways to meet user needs.

Your Role

As a valued team member, your role will involve:

• Experience in implementing IT change management processes to support integration and engagement.
• Experience using a range of software, and ability to rapidly become fluent in new software, including:
• Microsoft Windows and Apple iOS, iPadOS and MacOS
• Computer based training software - Teams, Canvas
• Graphics or photo imaging software —Adobe Creative Cloud; Adobe Photoshop
• Video creation and editing software —Camtasia
• Web page creation and editing software - SharePoint Online
• Desktop publishing software - Microsoft Office suite
• Demonstrated ability to embrace change and respond flexibly to changing expectations and requirements.
• Superior written and verbal communication skills, and ability to communicate in a clear, succinct and deliberate manner.
• Understanding of, or experience in, education context.
