Job Description
We are seeking enthusiastic Sterilising (CSSD) Technicians in a casual, part-time or full-time capacity reporting to the CSSD Manager. You will join a well-supported, dedicated and busy CSSD workforce that will expand your skills and experience. A supportive and comprehensive orientation program will support your transition into this role. At Epworth we perform a wide range of complex surgeries across all specialities. The recent introduction of the T-Doc instrument tracking system will assist you in your everyday practise to identify robotic, navigational and complex custom-made instrumentation.
To be successful in this role-
- You are flexible to work across various shifts, are highly motivated with good problem-solving skills with an ability to adapt and embrace constant changes within a working environment.
You will have-
- Certificate III in Sterilisation or equivalent preferably
- Sound understanding and knowledge of infection control requirements and Australian Sterilising Standard (AS/NZS4187)
- Excellent team work skills with ability to work collaboratively within a busy team with changing priorities and work demands
- Outstanding customer services skills with ability to build close working relationships within the CSSD team, the operating theatres and other key areas
- Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to use computer systems
- High level of understanding of OHS, with good manual handling techniques and basic level chemical safety within the sterilising services
- An understanding of and commitment to quality improvements
About Epworth Freemasons
Position Description Inherent Requirements
Epworth Freemasons consists of two sites. The Main Hospital is on Albert Street East Melbourne has a total of 12 operating theatres. The Victoria Parade site is just across the road and consists of an additional 6 theatres, including our Maternity wards. We often share staff across the two sites.
Freemason's primary specialities include- Orthopaedics, Gynaecology/ IVF, Urology, General, Plastics, ENT/ Maxfax Ophthalmology and Endoscopy. Car Parking is available on both sites at a discounted rate and easily accessible from Parliament Station.
Qualifications
Certificate III in Sterilisation or equivalent preferably

The annual salary range for Instrument Technicians – AUD $59,014 - $73,037 + super + entitlements dependent on year level (prorated for part-time).
