About the role

The Western Health Central Sterilisation and Supply Department's (CSSD) has a permanent part-time vacancy at the Sunshine /JKWC campus a for qualified Instrument Technician with a minimum of 2 years' experience to join our team. Grading will be in accordance with EBA.

The CSSD supports and provides a high standard of Sterilisation services to the Operating Suite, Maternity unit, wards and external clients.

Key responsibilities:

  • Responsible for cleaning, disinfecting, and sterilising of reusable medical devices in accordance with national standards and hospital policies.
  • Understand and apply the principles of sterilisation, disinfection and tracking in the CSSD environment.
  • Navigate the tracking system (Scancare) to support daily work requirements.

About you:

  • Hold Certificate 3 or 4 in Sterilization and a minimum of 2 years CSSD experience.
  • Be available to work a rotating roster, Monday to Sunday, including night shift
  • Be a positive team member, who is flexible, has good organisation skills and can work under pressure
  • Have good computer skills to be able to effectively navigate the computer-based tracking system.
  • Enjoy learning and contributing to the team.
  • Be able to take direction from senior staff.
