Chef

Applicant Must Meet the Following Criteria:

· Formal hospitality qualifications; ideally a Certificate IV Commercial Cookery

· At Least 3 years of Work Experience as a Chef .

The Successful Applicant will have the Following Duties:

· Oversee the preparation of food, and ensuring that any adjustments to the dish requested by patrons is made without compromising the balance of the flavor of the dish.

· Prepare food alongside kitchen staff, actively changing kitchen stations to manage preparation across all sections of the kitchen.

· Actively reviewing and revising the menu in conjunction with management to keep the menu vibrant, exciting, and also in line with seasonal changes.

· Experimenting with different spice and seasoning combinations when determining new dishes to implement, and training other kitchen staff on these new combinations prior to introduction of new menu items.

· Ensuring that food is prepared in accordance with any dietary requirements, and substituting ingredients to ensure that the balance of flavour is maintained.

· Overseeing and monitoring the kitchen to ensure full compliance with safe food preparation practices, and ensuring that measures to prevent cross contamination are actively complied with at all times.

· Monitoring the quality of dishes taken from the kitchen to ensure a consistently high quality product is delivered to the patrons at all time.

· Assisting management with the interviewing, shortlisting, and selection of kitchen staff.

· Regularly train kitchen staff to ensure that they continue to maintain their skills in relation to preparation, seasoning, spicing, sautéing, and final presentation.

· Inspiring the kitchen staff to showcase their passion and skills, and facilitate their opportunity to grow and develop as hospitality professionals.
