Job Description

The Team – Cloud Enablement

What we do:

The Cloud Enablement team provides a stable, secure, and optimised cloud platform for all SEEKers. We enable engineering teams to leverage cloud technology through services and prescriptive guidance that promote agile, autonomous delivery and support business transformation.

Our work is delivered across three specialist squads: FinOps, Engineering, and Database Support.

Why this matters to SEEK:

  • Improve efficiencies – Solve common problems once for the benefit of all.
  • Create value – Enable developers and engineers to focus on high-impact, innovative work rather than infrastructure deployment.
  • Manage risk & security – Operate within the guardrails of "Always Safe, Always On."
  • Optimise costs – Ensure cloud resources are used efficiently with transparent reporting and accountability.

Key Accountabilities

Data & Insights

  • Analyse, report, and extract insights from large datasets across cloud billing, usage tools, CMDB, and asset inventories.
  • Develop predictive analytics and KPI dashboards for cost forecasting and trend monitoring.
  • Monitor consumption to detect, investigate, and address anomalies.

Cost Optimisation & Strategy

  • Continuously improve cloud cost optimisation strategies (rightsizing, eliminating waste, cost-saving measures).
  • Lead and evolve the FinOps product roadmap and maturity assessments.
  • Manage unit economics modelling and ROI analysis for cloud investments.

Collaboration & Governance

  • Partner with engineering, operations, and finance to align usage with business goals and budgets.
  • Participate in cloud architecture reviews to ensure solutions are cost-effective.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes for cloud spend.

Leadership & Influence

  • Mentor FinOps analysts and grow team capability.
  • Act as a subject matter expert and escalation point for complex challenges.
  • Lead training, workshops, and the FinOps community of practice to drive a culture of cost-conscious engineering.
  • Present to executive leadership to influence strategic cloud investment decisions.

Qualifications

What You'll Bring

  • Proven experience in cloud cost management and FinOps methodologies.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to work with large datasets, billing tools, and financial models.
  • In-depth knowledge of cloud platforms (preferably AWS and/or GCP) including pricing models, discounting mechanisms, and governance practices.
  • Experience implementing rightsizing, cost optimisation, and operational efficiency strategies.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform) and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to partner across engineering, finance, and operations.
  • Ability to present complex cost, risk, and optimisation concepts to executive-level audiences.
  • Experience mentoring team members and fostering best-practice adoption.
  • Awareness of emerging cloud technologies and cost management trends.

Additional Information

Permanent Perks

At SEEK we offer:

  • Annual Performance Bonus Plan
  • Support of flexible working, including a mix of office and work from home days depending on your role.
  • Paid and unpaid leave benefits including Personal Flexi Days and Volunteer Days, as well as the opportunity to purchase additional leave
  • Support for parents with 14 weeks paid primary carers leave and 2 weeks paid leave for partners

At SEEK, we are passionate about fostering a culture of inclusion and wellbeing that embraces and values the diversity of our people. We are a purpose driven business that works with heart.
