General Practitioners working in Medicare Urgent Care Clinic (UCC)

We are looking for a part time VR GP to join us at the Heidelberg Medicare Urgent Care Clinic. Opportunity to earn good money and enhance your emergency medicine skills.

Candidates must hold AHPRA specialist registration for this VR GP role.

Minimum 1-2 years of GP experience is required for this urgent care position.

This part-time position includes weekend working hours.

This clinic supports the Austin Hospital. Medicare UCCs help reduce pressure on our hospitals and emergency departments, allowing them to focus on higher urgency and life-threatening conditions.

Medicare UCCs provide care for illnesses and injuries that are urgent, but not life-threatening, such as:

  • minor infections
  • minor fractures,
  • sprains,
  • sports injuries and neck and back pain
  • urinary tract infections (UTIs)
  • sexually transmitted infections (STIs)
  • minor cuts
  • insect bites and rashes
  • minor eye and ear problems
  • respiratory illness
  • gastroenteritis
  • mild burns.
