Mental Health Liaison Clinician

About the role

Permanent full time opportunity to enhance the Queensland Police Service's (QPS) response to mental health incidents by providing timely and relevant mental health information, advice, and support for informed decision-making, while carefully balancing individual confidentiality and the need for effective management ; and secondly, as a senior mental health clinician based in the central PCC, to deliver high-level, evidence-based clinical services, including acute assessment, triage, and referral for children, youth, and adults experiencing mental health crisis, or their families/carers, following police emergency intervention. Clinical services will be delivered via video and phone.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

• Demonstrate advanced specialist knowledge, experience and clinical skills in Mental Health Liaison Service.
• Participate in innovation and change to develop responses to address emerging service needs in relation to Mental Health.
• Practice collaboratively within the interprofessional health care team to promote the safety, security and personal integrity of individuals and groups.
• Responsible for prompt and accurate data entry of consumer demographic information, diagnosis, and outcomes, as well as service activity data into relevant applications. This includes completing and submitting the electronic documentation to comply with the Mental Health Act 2016 requirements for admissions, discharges, and transfers.
