Mental Health Liaison Clinician

**About the role
Permanent full time opportunity to enhance the Queensland Police Service's (QPS) response to mental health incidents by providing timely and relevant high-level mental health information, advice, and support for informed decision-making, while carefully balancing individual confidentiality and the need for effective management; and secondly, as a senior mental health clinician based in the central Police Communication Centre (PCC), to deliver high-level, evidence-based clinical services, including acute assessment, triage, and referral for children, youth, and adults experiencing mental health crisis, or their families/carers, following police emergency intervention. Clinical services will be delivered via video and phone.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
Apply knowledge of Queensland's mental health system to maximise consumer outcomes through identification of needs, identification of access pathways, liaison and information sharing.
Engage in varied and complex inter-sectoral linking and liaison with relevant stakeholders and partnerships, including communication, interpretation of complex clinical information and translation to service needs to secure appropriate follow up for people experiencing mental health distress.
Participate in and lead evaluation processes and quality improvement activities that foster an effective interagency partnership and promote positive consumer outcomes.
