Operations Coordinator

As an Operations Coordinator at Wilmar Sugar & Renewables, you will play a key role in leading and coordinating your team to ensure efficient and seamless production operations. Your responsibilities will include managing daily activities, addressing operational challenges, and driving process improvements to boost productivity. A strong focus on safety, resource optimisation, and consistent product quality will be at the core of your role. Additionally, you will provide technical, operational, and maintenance guidance to frontline production teams. This position is located in Proserpine, located in the heart of the Whitsundays region in North Queensland, Proserpine is a vibrant rural town known for its friendly community, relaxed lifestyle, and close proximity to world-renowned natural attractions. Your Role in Action

• Tracking Performance Metrics: Monitor production performance indicators, including process quality and downtime, and report on deviations and major interruptions
• Driving Continuous Improvement: Develop and implement action plans to optimise product flow, stock levels, quality, efficiency, and minimise breakdowns
• Inspiring and Leading Teams: Lead, direct, and motivate a diverse team of maintenance personnel, operators, and lab staff to achieve operational excellence
• Managing Employee Performance: Oversee and document the performance of direct reports, including attendance, coaching, training, and performance reviews
• Championing Notification Procedures: Serve as the onsite leader for the Notification process, ensuring high-quality SAP entries and effective notification management
• Providing Technical Expertise: Offer technical leadership to identify and implement process improvements that enhance operational performance

Your Winning Combination

Our ideal candidate will hold tertiary or trade qualifications in Mechanical or Chemical disciplines or demonstrate substantial practical experience within the sugar industry or a similar heavy industrial environment. You will have a proven ability to engage and motivate teams, aligning them with common goals to achieve performance targets and business objectives. Strong analytical and decision-making skills are essential, along with the ability to effectively communicate, lead, influence, and negotiate across all levels of the organisation.
