The Opportunity
We are looking for a talented and motivated Business Intelligence Analyst to join our Digital & IT team in Sydney on an 18-Month Fixed Term Contract. This role is designed to lead the transformation of our BI capabilities into a forward-thinking, insight-driven solution, ensuring data accuracy, governance, and performance. The BI Analyst will play a key part in developing and maintaining scalable BI solutions that drive data-driven decision-making across our organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

· BI Development & Reporting: Develop and maintain impactful Power BI dashboards and reports to support operations and strategic planning, while optimizing for performance, scalability, and usability using advanced DAX and SQL skills.

· Data Engineering & Integration: Lead the Data Engineering team to design scalable, reusable tables within the medallion architecture, ensuring alignment with business needs and best practices for data structuring, governance, and performance optimisation.

· Advanced BI Development: Utilise advanced Power BI, DAX, SQL, Python, or R skills to create robust and visually compelling BI solutions, optimising systems for performance and accuracy.

· Agile Product Management: Work within an Agile framework to iteratively develop BI products, manage the backlog with a focus on high-value initiatives, and drive continuous improvements based on stakeholder feedback.

· Commercial Understanding: Apply BI solutions to drive measurable business value, collaborate with business analysts to identify performance-enhancing opportunities, and guide the organization in using BI insights for growth and efficiency.

What You Bring to the Table

· A background in data and programming (Back-end development) with 2-3 years' experience as a Power BI Developer.

· Advanced Power BI development skills, including DAX and SQL proficiency.

· An understanding of the problems data scientists solves for and the role in coordinating solutions.

· Strong commercial understanding with the ability to apply BI solutions to solve business challenges.

· Experience in Agile product management for BI products.

· Excellent communication and collaboration skills for engaging stakeholders in a matrixed environment.

· Experience working in cross-functional teams.
