University of Sydney New South Wales, Australia The Sports Clinic Full time $80,000 - $120,000 per year

Start Date: January–February 2026 (flexible for the right candidate)

The Sports Clinic at the University of Sydney is expanding its team and is seeking an outstanding Physiotherapist with a strong interest and demonstrated experience in Water Polo and Soccer to join us on a full-time basis.

You will work directly with:


•  Sydney Uni Water Polo (National Water Polo League clubs – men's & women's)


•  University of Sydney Elite Athlete Program scholarship holders


•  General public and recreational athletes

Key Responsibilities


• Provide on-field and pool-deck injury management and rehabilitation for water polo


• Deliver clinic-based physiotherapy (approx. 80% of week) and on-field/pool coverage (15%)


• Design and implement return-to-play programs, pre-season screening, and injury-prevention strategies


• Collaborate with coaches, strength & conditioning staff, and sports medicine team


• Contribute to the clinic's research and teaching activities (optional but encouraged)

Essential Criteria


• Bachelor or Master of Physiotherapy (AHPRA registration with no restrictions)


• Minimum 2 years post-graduate experience


• Proven experience working with elite sport


• Excellent manual therapy and exercise prescription skills


• Availability for evening training sessions (typically 2–3 nights/week) and weekend games (shared roster)


• Current Provide First Aid & CPR

Highly Desirable


• APA Sports & Exercise Physiotherapist title (or working towards)
