Through ongoing organic growth, Senversa has a new opportunity for a Senior Principal/Principal Civil Engineer with 15+ years' experience to join our team.
This is your opportunity to enhance our Engineering team by utilising your leadership, technical and project direction skills in delivering a broad range of civil-environmental projects. You will be exposed to a diverse range of projects, contributing to the design and construction supervision of earthworks and engineered containment facilities in the following market sectors: Defence, Aviation, Energy, Mining and Waste.
At Senversa, our engineering team is complimented by our Contaminated Land and Environmental Management and Approvals Teams in delivering multi-disciplinary remediation projects for our clients. You will enjoy being a key role within integrated multi-disciplinary teams of civil engineers, geotechnical engineers, hydrogeologists and contaminated land professionals to provide our clients with high value solutions.

So, what will you do?
You will work on and direct a range of projects for government and private sector clients and include assistance with some of Victoria's largest infrastructure projects. You will work as part of a fantastic and supportive team delivering projects from concept design to finished construction for contaminated land remedial earthworks, containment facilities for contaminated soil and solid waste, together with other waste management infrastructure. As we strive not to work in 'silos' at Senversa, you will have regular opportunities to work closely with all projects' teams within Senversa achieving a variety in project knowledge and skills.
This role will see your effective contribution to:
- Senior business development input - contributing to the overall growth of national engineering group revenues and other fiscal metrics.
- Technical leadership and direction via project direction, peer review and support for business processes and systems.
- Attract and retain quality professionals.
- Leadership and mentoring to existing and future team members.
- Developing integrated solutions by collaborating with other technical practices – such as geospatial, approvals and environmental management, hydrogeology, auditing, waste management, landfill gas and field technical practices.
- The success of the wider team, by applying own strengths in delivery of a variety of multidisciplinary projects.

- Attending and presenting at both internal and external networking/professional development events.
- Delivery of a range of interesting and complex projects, detailed designs for containment facilities including associated civil components (earthworks, geosynthetic lining systems, drainage, etc.).
- Supporting and ensuring the adoption of appropriate digital solutions in the delivery of our projects.
What you will bring to the team
- Bachelor of Engineering (Civil)
- CPEng / NER / RPEV status preferred.
- Proven project direction, peer review and leadership skills.
- Passionate about civil/environmental engineering within one or more of the following sectors: Defence, Aviation, Energy, Mining and Waste.
- Thorough understanding of earthworks design and construction.
- Demonstrated understanding of design and construction using a broad range of geosynthetic materials.
- Hydrology and stormwater design and construction.
- Demonstrated strong understanding of the EPA Victoria regulatory system as it relates to containment facilities.
- Ability to apply a risk-based approach to problem solving.
- Experience leading the development of 'Issued for Construction' documentation.
- Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Solutions focused and partnership orientated.
- Lateral thinking, problem solving and strong collaboration and team working abilities.
- Experience using geotechnical and stormwater design software to analyse problems and form solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with peers, direct reports and clients.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and 3-Dimensional modelling software.
- Experience within a similar role.
