About the Role:

Enabling Pathways is looking for Residential Case Managers to play a crucial role in our mission of healing and development for young individuals facing trauma, abuse, or neglect. As a compassionate and holistic support system, we integrate the wisdom of developmental psychology with cultural understanding to create a nurturing space for recovery and growth. Your role will involve delivering specialised services, including therapeutic interventions and cultural enrichment programs, ensuring our commitment to continuous learning remains at the forefront of child and youth care.

As a Residential Case Manager, your role will involve:

  • Consistently follow and implement the participant's individualised care plan throughout all responsibilities and activities.
  • Collaborating with the Area Manager to support the interview and induction process for new team members, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment. This includes assisting in conducting interviews, coordinating induction schedules/buddy shifts, and providing necessary support to new hires as they integrate into the organisation, with a specific focus on promoting and maintaining child safety standards.
  • Collaborate with the care team, including mentoring and training new recruits to enhance therapeutic support.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and supervision to a team of Youth Workers and Team Leaders, ensuring effective communication, collaboration, and adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop strategies to lead and manage a high-performing team.
  • Lead by example, motivate, and assist staff in achieving better educational and well-being results through ongoing improvement.
  • Encourage and support reflective practice, professional dialogue, and collaboration among staff.
  • Organise and facilitate regular team meetings to ensure effective communication, coordination, and alignment among team members
  • Provide secretarial and/or administrative support to the Area Manager, demonstrating a high degree of judgment, and initiative, and maintaining strict confidentiality and sensitivity in all work-related tasks.
  • Ensure all records and information management tasks, case records, preparing reports, performance reporting and data entry are completed on time.
  • Ensure all reports are completed thoroughly and promptly.
  • Efficiently utilise company software systems to streamline administrative tasks and enhance overall operational efficiency.
  • Manage finances, receipts and invoices received during the shift.

Skills & experience

  • Minimum of 6-8 months of experience in a relevant field or role is highly desirable
  • Able to confidently navigate through Microsoft Office software
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including working and communicating effectively with clients, their families, and other professionals
  • Ability to work in a busy environment, both independently and as a part of a team.
  • Comply with & understand all privacy and confidentiality issues
  • Aware of appropriate cultural protocols for working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island people and those from CALD backgrounds
  • Possess knowledge of trauma-informed therapeutic care to effectively deescalate and respond to critical incidents involving young individuals.
  • Experience in supporting children and young people with 'complex needs and behaviors,' showcasing proficiency in therapeutically managing and addressing these behaviors.
  • Must be familiar with child safety plans and must follow safety measures and procedures at all times

Mandatory Requirements

  • Current Blue Card issued by the Queensland Government.
  • Clean Police Clearance Check dated within the last 6 months.
  • Hold a Minimum Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention (or equivalent)
  • Traffic History Report for the last 5 years
  • Current Open Driver License
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification
  • Completion of the following PeakCare trainings: Hope and Healing, Water Safety Awareness and Positive Behaviour Support & Managing High Risk Behaviours
  • Proof of citizenship (passport, birth certificate or citizenship certificate) or VISA if applicable
