Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Developmental & Behavioural or General Paediatrician to join the Paediatric department.

Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne's rapidly growing outer north.

Services are provided through our five main campuses:

Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn Centre, Mernda Community Hospital, and Kilmore District Hospital. In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park and Coburg.

About the Role:

Northern Health is excited to invite applications for the position of Developmental & Behavioural or General Paediatrician.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing the Paediatric community outreach clinics based at Mernda Community Hospital
  • Supervision and training of junior medical staff (including advanced paediatric/community registrars)
  • Providing direct and indirect supervision for the Paediatric community registrars
  • Contributing to case discussions and multidisciplinary meetings
  • Liaising with internal and external stake holders regarding factors that impact on the care of children attending the paediatric clinics at Northern Health (eg: Local schools, MCHN, GPs, NDIS co-ordinators and providers etc)
  • Support academic, research, education, training & supervision in the Unit

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Medical registration with the Medical Board of Australia under the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Undergraduate medical qualification as a first degree is essential – MBBS, MD, PhD or equivalent
  • A fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (or equivalent)
