Maintenance Manager – Sunshine Coast

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Maintenance Manager to oversee defect rectification and maintenance operations across residential and commercial projects. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and exceptional communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and implement all defect rectification requests.
  • Manage, support and advise site teams inspecting and rectifying defects.
  • Coordinate and prioritise multiple jobs across various locations (Sunshine Coast, Brisbane, Gympie).
  • Organise workflow and assign tasks to staff and responsible trades.
  • Liaise effectively with homeowners, tenants, property managers, body corporate managers, clients, and developers.
  • Maintain and ensure accurate records in job management software, including photos and notes before, during, and after work.
  • Great conflict resolution abilities.
  • Raise and manage purchase orders, ensuring relevant documentation is provided.
  • Schedule work activities and monitor progress.
  • Conduct maintenance team meetings to address recurring issues and improve processes.
  • Ensure compliance with legislation, OH&S standards, and trade licensing requirements.
  • Collaborate with site supervisors to resolve post-construction maintenance concerns.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Strong problem-solving ability in both commercial and residential construction.
  • In-depth knowledge of the National Construction Code (NCC), Australian Standards, and QBCC Standards and Tolerances Guide.
  • Proven leadership and team coordination skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
  • Experience with project/job management tools, software
  • Trade qualification (Low, Medium, or Open Supervisors Licence) or
  • Diploma or Degree in Project/Construction Management (preferred).
  • Technical understanding of construction industry statutory requirements.
