The Role

As a
Senior Automation & Virtualisation Infrastructure Engineer
, you'll join the Department's
Infrastructure Platforms Team
, part of the ICT Operations Branch.

You will be responsible for designing, managing, and optimising a wide range of
virtualisation and automation platforms
— ensuring the Department's infrastructure remains secure, scalable, and efficient.

Your responsibilities include:

Managing and enhancing
Aria Automation
,
Aria Orchestrator
,
VMware NSX
,
Aria Operations
, and
Site Recovery Manager
environments.

Supporting and maintaining
VMware vSphere
and
Cloud Foundation
environments.

Overseeing
rack-mounted and blade server
infrastructure.

Producing detailed
design
,
build
, and
operations documentation
.

Mentoring junior engineers and contributing to capability uplift.

Collaborating with technical teams and stakeholders to deliver best-practice infrastructure solutions.

Participating in after-hours on-call support as needed.

Essential Skills & Experience

To be considered for this engagement, you'll need:

Proven experience
with several of the following:

• Aria Automation
• Aria Orchestrator
• VMware NSX
• Aria Operations
• Site Recovery Manager
• VMware vSphere and Cloud Foundation

Strong scripting and coding skills
with:

• PowerShell
• PowerCLI
• YAML
• JavaScript

Technical documentation expertise
– capable of producing clear design, build, and operational documents.

Excellent communication & teamwork
– able to mentor, present ideas, and collaborate effectively with other engineers and stakeholders.

Desirable

Experience with
Veeam Backup & Replication
.

Background in
Federal Government ICT environments
.

Familiarity with
automation frameworks
or
infrastructure-as-code (IaC)
practices.

Work Flexibility:
Supported, in consultation with the hiring manager.

Security Clearance:
Must be able to obtain Baseline (sponsorship available).
