An opportunity exists for a suitably skilled candidate to join the War Memorial Hospital Outpatient Department as an Administration Officer.

War Memorial Hospital (WMH) is a 3rd Schedule Aged Rehabilitation hospital, situated in Waverley, owned and operated by Uniting and part of the South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD). Services are comprised of 24-hour inpatient care, Monday to Friday outpatient departments, iREAP Day Rehabilitation program, several specialist community teams inclusive of Transitional Aged Care, Geriatric Flying Squad, Young Onset Dementia, and day centre program, 24-hour accommodation service for regional guests and the full range of hospital support services. The primary purpose of this position is to provide effective and efficient administrative support services to the Outpatient Administration team at the War Memorial Hospital (WMH), consistent with WMH, South East Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) and Uniting policies, procedures and standards. In particular, the role works closely with the Geriatric Medicine team and their clinics and collaboratively with the broader Outpatient Administration team to provide general support.

This is a permanent part time position (32 hours per week). Required days of work are Monday to Thursday. Uniting is a not-for-profit organisation with competitive salary packaging.

All Category A NSW Health workers are required to have received an annual seasonal Influenza vaccination or have an approved medical contraindication certificate. COVID-19 vaccinations are strongly recommended for all NSW Health workers.

1. Recent experience in a clerical position including switchboard, reception, word processing, data entry, filing, faxing, scanning etc.
2. Demonstrated ability to plan, organise and problem solve within a busy team environment and with indirect supervision.
3. Excellent interpersonal communication skills including both verbal and written.
4. Demonstrated ability to prioritise workload and deal with multiple demands.
5. Demonstrated commitment to provision of quality customer service to both internal and external customers.
6. Demonstrated experience using MS Office suite and healthcare databases or willingness to learn
7. High standard of accurate word processing skills (medical terminology knowledge an advantage).
