Experienced Speech Pathologist (work across the lifespan)

Description

We are seeking a Speech Pathologist with a passion for working clients across the lifespan. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive assessment and providing high-quality therapeutic supports to clients and their families experiencing difficulties with communication and feeding.

You will work with a diverse population, including those who:

· Identify as neurodiverse

· present with developmental differences

· are recovering from stroke or TBI

· are experiencing age-related degenerative disorders

As an entry-level Speech Pathologist, you will be supported closely by the Speech Pathology Team Lead in order to engage participants in appropriate assessments, and tailor therapy for their individual needs.

Collaborating closely with families, teachers, and other healthcare professionals, you will play a crucial role in advocating for your client's communication needs and helping them to achieve their full potential.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments in the areas of speech, language, social communication, AAC, and feeding.
  • Develop and implement individualised treatment plans based on assessments results and family input.
  • Provide one-on-one therapy sessions to enhance communication and feeding skills.
  • Monitor and document client progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
  • Educate clients and their families on communication/feeding strategies and techniques.
  • Develop comprehensive written summary reports to inform provision of future supports.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure holistic care and address related health issues.
  • Stay current with emerging research, trends, and best practices in speech pathology for adults.

Requirements

  • Bachelor/Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Current registration with Speech Pathology Australia
  • Valid Driver's license
  • NDIS worker's screening check
  • Working With Children check
  • Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience working as a Speech Pathologist
  • Strong understanding of language development, speech disorders, and evidence-based therapeutic techniques.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Pay: $65,092.82 – $85,000.00 per year

Expected hours: 16 – 38 per week
