Opportunity Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Solutions Analytics & Insights Expert on a contract basis to accelerate the transformation of our reporting capabilities. Our Retail Solutions Analytics team is currently facing a high volume of manual reporting tasks, and this role is critical to addressing that backlog.

Your primary objective will be to optimise, automate, and streamline existing reporting processes. By transitioning these manual activities to efficient, scalable solutions, you will enable the core team to focus on high-impact strategic analysis and continuous business improvement.

Core Responsibilities

The successful candidate will lead the initiative to enhance our reporting ecosystem through automation:

  • Process Engineering: Collaborate with operational teams to meticulously review, map, and redesign existing reports and generation processes for maximum efficiency.
  • Automation Development: Design, build, and deploy robust technical solutions that automate report generation, validation, and delivery, ensuring superior accuracy and timeliness.
  • Backlog Resolution: Actively manage and clear the queue of outstanding reporting requests to provide immediate operational relief.
  • Modeling & Expertise: Provide specialised consulting in advanced data analysis, data modeling, and best practices for reporting automation.
  • Transition & Training: Facilitate the adoption of new automated tools by team members, providing structured training and necessary support during the transition phase.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation detailing all optimised reporting processes and technical solutions.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Successful and timely resolution of the current reporting backlog.
  • Implementation of fully automated solutions for all designated key reports.
  • Creation of clear, standardised documentation for all optimised processes.
  • Effective knowledge transfer and production of high-quality training materials for the operational team.
Candidate Profile: Skills & Experience

The ideal expert will possess a powerful combination of technical depth, proven experience, and strong soft skills.

Technical & Analytical Expertise
  • 4+ Years Experience: Minimum of four years in a dedicated analytical or data engineering role.
  • Quantitative Problem Solving: Extensive experience in solving complex analytical problems using quantitative methods.
  • Data Handling: Mastery in manipulating, cleaning, and analysing complex, high-volume, high-dimensionality data from diverse sources.
  • Scripting Fluency: Proficient fluency in at least one analytical scripting language (Python or R).
  • Data Tools: Deep familiarity with relational databases and expert command of SQL.
  • Advanced Analytics Platform: Expert knowledge of a modern data analysis and modeling tool, such as Dataiku.
  • Architecture & Modeling: Demonstrated ability to develop robust data models and integrate multiple disparate systems/datasets.
  • Experience with advanced predictive modeling and customer segmentation.
Reporting & Communication
  • Clarity: Exceptional ability to translate complex quantitative results into clear, precise, and actionable business insights.
  • Visualisation: Proven experience in designing and delivering high-impact dashboards that demonstrate the impact of new data strategies.
  • Presentation: Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills, capable of simplifying complex findings for all levels of stakeholders.
