An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented
Senior Legal Counsel
to join a leading Australian energy infrastructure organisation at the forefront of the renewable transition.
Position Description
This is a newly created position that will see you report to the Head of Legal as part of a collaborative in-house team.
This role will focus on advising
major construction and infrastructure projects
, including:
- large scale renewable energy developments and related consortia projects.
- Large-scale battery storage projects
- projects/construction tenders and related procurement activities.
- Broader infrastructure including data centres.
Beyond projects, the role will also involve advising on commercial contracts, joint ventures, corporate transactions, and occasional governance and compliance matters. You'll work cross-functionally with the commercial, engineering, and procurement teams and provide practical, solutions-oriented legal advice that supports strategic delivery.
Ideal Candidate
- 8+ years' post-qualification experience
gained in a leading law firm and/or in-house environment. - Strong background in construction and major projects law, ideally with exposure to the energy or infrastructure sector.
- Broader experience in commercial, corporate, or procurement matters would be highly regarded.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to advise confidently at all levels of the business.
- A hands-on, pragmatic approach and a genuine interest in renewable energy and infrastructure development.
